No, I’m not talking about Instagram’s various filters, I’m talking about common sense. Social media is a great way to share your latest updates whether it’s getting a new job or just eating at a great restaurant, but users must be wary that the internet is open to everyone, including policemen. Just ask Depree Johnson, who now has 142 felony charges thanks to an irresponsible post. Johnson, a convicted felon, is not allowed to own a gun, but he posted a picture of himself on his personal Instagram with two, which gave deputies grounds to search his house. Not only did they find a loaded gun, but $250,000 worth of electronics, jewelry, and other firearms that were likely stolen from senior citizens.
